Question seizures and Dev. Dealy

Hi all,
my 3 yr old son started having seizures at 2. He's on Trileptal but it hasn't controlled his seizures (1-2/month). he's also non-verbal, does anyone know if seizures or the medicine side effects cause speech delay?
thanks

Hi - how long has he been on Tripeptal. My daughter had trouble with getting out her words (she is dev.delayed) the first month she was on...we reduced the dosage and she responded better. Meds don't help with her seizures, but we are keeping her on a low dosage for the time being. My daughter has seizures on a daily basis (usually) and the more seizures, the more difficult her speech becomes. But, she always bounces back...........Paula
