Question Simple Partial Frontal Lobe Seizures

Hi everyone. I'm new here. My name is Tam. I think I might have epilepsy. I've been doing some research on these "Things" (that's what I call them) I have. I've been having them since I was about 12 or 13. I always know when they are coming on. I get this weird sensation all over my body and then something familiar goes through my head (never can remember afterwards) and then I feel extremely naseous, and feel really hot. My memory right after is really bad, but it does get better. These last only about 30 seconds. Also, I'm very tired afterwards. BTW, I'm totally awake and conscious when I'm having it. I'm 30 now, and have always wondered what they were. They've been the same my whole life, except when I was younger I would get headaches after them, now I don't. If I have several in a day though, I do feel like I have a ton of pressure in my head. So, can anyone relate? Do you think that is what I have? Do you have to go on medication for this? It really doesn't effect my life. I'm very used to them. Just curious. Thanks so much!

Tam

Hi Tam,
If you asked each person on this board, you'd probably get lots of different opinions, and hear of many different pre and post-seizure patterns. What you described may well be a seizure, but noone here can tell you that. Your best bet is to go to see a seizure specialist. My seizures begin with a wierd feeling, and I lose my ability to speak, followed by walking like a drunk...flashing in my eye...twitching hand...then leg...until my entire right side convulses. Sometimes this progresses into a full grand mal seizure. Then I am unconcious for a few hours and wake up with a really bad headache. The thing is....if you really think you may be having seizures you should be taking medication. Call your Doc after the holidays if you think you should. Meanwhile, hope your holidays are nice.

Hi Tam
If you think that you have Epilepsy you should go see a doctor. Thats true everybody is diffrent about how they feel, for me it was warth in my stomach and then nausea, vision distortion, fear, absence,I had the partialfor 2 years before I had my grand-mal siezure. So I am telling you go see a doctor to be on the safe side. When I had my grand-mal seizure I was just lucky that my husband was home because I felt in the bathroom I felt on the bathtub,so go get check before it's to late. Good Luck.

I agree with the other posters. YOu could get many opinions but what you describes sounds very much like my sons complex partial seizures.
You need to call your doctor soon and get this checked out. A family practice doc or general phys. can refer you to a neuro and get the tests needed to see what is going on...

Hope you get help to know what is going on...
