EEG jargon/results
Hello. Now, it's my estimation that the following EEG results are completely normal, given that I had no seizures during the Video EEG with which it correlates. But here goes:
"The EEG background remained unchanged over the four days of recording. There was a low-amplitude fast background in alert wakefulness with at times a well-developed 10-11 Hz posterior-dominant rhythm. Small amounts of 4-6 Hz central activity increased rapidly in drowsiness. In stage I sleep, symmetric vertex waves were seen. Sleep spindles were noted in stage II sleep. Frontally maximum irregular 1-2 Hz slowing was seen in stages III-IV of sleep. There were no focal abnormalities. There were no definite epileptiform discharges."
Again, I did not have any seizures during this period, but this also means - I am sure - that my interictal EEG is entirely normal too. ... Does this look familiar to anyone? I am having a 72-hour ambulatory EEG tomorrow (Monday, March 3) so maybe we can catch a seizure then. ...
Thanks.
