Question why do u have to be sleep deprived for EEG

i have to have another one, and i dont want to wake up so early in the morning. I am already tired from being on this new medication, ugh

Sleep deprivation is well known to invoke seizure activity in the brain thus making the EEG more likely to ellicit the areas of the brain where the seizures originate.

I was always told that they wanted you to fall alseep also to see what your brain is doing. That's what my Dr told me.
