TLE vs. Mesial Temporal Sclerosis - Epilepsy Message Board

Hi everyone,

I don't mean to ask a silly question, but I don't see my neuro until the end of the month and I'll never remember to ask him this anyway. I have Mesial Temporal Sclerosis. My hippocampus on the left side is 5cc too small. Is this the same as TLE? As i go back through the boards I see several posts about TLE, but none about MTS. I am just looking at a different name or is this a totally different disorder?

im not sure if they are the same or different but i have been told by my dr that she thinks i have mts but i have never been told anything about tle so im not sure if i am really helping you any i go in for a test on the 25th of this month to find out if i di infact have mts and if i do im not sure what it means because im not really sure what it is i just got my results from my amblatory (sp) eeg and she said she thinks the focus is in my left temporal lobe but not for sure becuase i didnt have any seizures while hooked up i have another one (eeg that is)on the 26th of this month and i am hoping to have a seizure pretty bad when you wish to have seizures lol most people what them to go away but here i am wishing to have one so i can get some answers well like i said im not sure if i really helped you any but thats what i know

Hi

I have mesial sclerosis too and my neuro said that it's the cause of my TLE. My scar is on the right side and surgery is an option.(scary thought, eek!)
