HelloKathy HB User
Question How do you deal with memory loss???

Hi guys,
I don't have seizures too often anymore but my memory is still pretty bad, especially my short term memory. For instance, I will go to the movies or dinner with my friends and a month later they will remember and talk about details of the movie but I have trouble remembering that I even saw the movie. The same thing happens with books that I have read. I don't even know what they are about. I can't recall events in my life and it is truly a big problem. I will be going back to work soon and I fear that it will interfere with my performance. I try to write things down but I can't write every little thing that happens. Does anyone out there have the same problem???

OH MY GOSH LADIES!!!!

YAY!!!! I don't want to sit here and sound like I am praising this but I have to tell you that the both of you just described everything I go thru daily and you don't even know me!!! I have the same problem!!

It is so nice to know that I am not the only one!! Don't get me wrong, I am sorry you both have this, but I am so happy that I am not the only one and I have someone who understands and I understand them. I too forgot my anniversary. My 10th anniversary and I forgot it. I have to go back and read Harry Potter #4 because I just got Harry Potter #5. I can't remember some names of less talked about charactures, little events that are significant, and I can't tell you the story line in cronological(sp?) order. (Heavy Sigh) So now I have to re-read the previous book. AARRGGGHHHH!!

Yes, I do feel what you are. I can't write anything down because I forget what I wrote and where I wrote it...he he. I would have to carry around a tape recorder that records all day long while attached to my back. When I need to recall sonething I have to take 4 hours to try to find it on the tape....NAAAAW, that won't work either!

You, my dears, are not alone!!!!

God Bless you,

KittyMom

well i am back from my drs appt and i talked with this dr about the memory problems and he said there really isnt a whole lot that can be done but he did give me some advice although i dont know how helpful it is lol it didnt sound to great to me but here it is. he told me to organzie everything really truly organize things get rid of things i havent used in the last 6 months if i havent used it in that long then its not needed alot of the problems with the memory come from stress if you can do something to eliminate stress then you will have better memory. now like i said before i am going on what the dr told me so im going to give this a try and see how it works out i think by the time i get done i will have an empty house lol and hopefully i might be feeling better who knows if any of it works ill be sure to let you know
