what do u do after a seizure? - Epilepsy Message Board

I always want to get up off the floor, i am confused about whats going on, but i do relize that i have had a seizure because i am on the floor and people are around me. but i always want to get up and people always hold my head down, i hate that. its embarrassing,

i have grand mal seizures and i never know that i have had one until about 7-8 hours afterwards and i fully wake up after a lonnnng nap and i realize my tougne is all bit up but from what i have been told after i get done convulsing and start coming out of my seizure i am very violent and i really dont like that because i have 3 small children i had a seizure at my moms house while getting somethings out of a back seat of a car i was outside by myself my mom came out and found me unconsious called 911 the ambulance came and by the time they got there i was awake but still unaware of what was going on (this was only the second seizure i had had) the paramedics tried getting me out of the car because i was still laying on the floorboard of the back seat and from what i have been told and i seen afterwards the paramedics really took a beating from me it was almost like i had some super strenght at that time or something im a fairly small girl and i dont like to fight i dont even like to argue but 3 of the paramedics had black eyes and one of them had a broken hand .i dont know why i did it and it really bugs me i had charges pressed against me but they were dropped once they figured out what had happened thank god i still to this day feel bad for that.another time i had a seizure was a couple weeks after i gave birth to my second child and an abulance was called that time too i gues i fought with them too but not near as bad i refused to go with them but my husband some how managed to talk me into going with them because i was hurt.but i come out of the seizure very aggressive.

I would get complex partials and grand mals. I always sleep after a seizure. But it bugs me after I have had a seizure and I try to get up and people are around me trying to make me sit down or stay still.

When I come to after having a seizure, I am very incoherrent and don't know what happened. What I am told though is that I get very insisting that I am okay and that nothing happened. After that I get really really really cold, and sleep for about 2 or 3 hours..

Hadn't thought about the little guy being cold after. Thanks for sharing. Dh and I go back and forth, I cover him up and he uncovers him... I'll have to let Daddy know what you said. Thanks for sharing.
