Post getting up early

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone with eplipesy ever have a problem with getting up early in the morning? Explain:
If I wake up to early in the morning by the afternoon I am fighting a seizure. I mean things flashing at me fast, de jovu, a strange odor, etc. But if I get up like around 11 p.m. or after I am fine. Does this happen to anyone else? Please let me know. My family thinks I am just lazy. But that's not the case. I am not lazy.

I always have a hard time getting up early. I have to be up by 645am to get two of my kids ready for school. I am irritable and cant seem to get moving. I dont believe its laziness because all the meds im on make me tired to beging with and my younger two have gotten off "schedule" and keep me up most nights until midnight...I have begun to dread mornings. I dont know if its seizure related or what but i never feel rested completely and i used to be the type that could sleep only a few hours and still be up and about with a smile. Now if i get up early im a bear. I have learned to control my irritability because its not fair to send my kids off to school with me screaming at them. SO i grin and bear it and tell them i love them and have a good day and come home go in my room for a sec and calm down...then i come on here to read the great support from others. Take care!

Yes, sounds like you are not getting enough rest. Something else came to mind while I was reading your post...How many times a day do you take your meds?? If you are not taking them all throughout the day then that could be the problem. I take mine 4 times a day because of just that problem. Now I feel fine. I do get sleepy but the deja vues are gone (mostly)(I am knocking on wood too) and I am not having those mid day, early evening "strange feelings" that I used to get. You know the ones....the ones that make you sooooooooo sleepy after having one!! They are almost as bad as having a seizure.

I am not a doctor but that should be something that you bring up to the doc. If you do take them 4 times a day then maybe your meds aren't right for you. What do you think??

Let me know! I find this very interesting. I need a life I know but I love puzzles and things that I have to "figure out". I love it when I have to "figure something out" and it involves helping someone. I get so happy and it makes my day!! (Sorry, I sound like a geek that loves to brag or something)

Sorry sweetie!! But please let me know.

God Bless you,
KittyMom

Cool

Hi KittyMom,
I take my meds 3 times a day. In the morning I take 2 Dilatin 100mg each. In the afternoon 2 Dilatin 100mg each & 1 phenobarbital 60 mg. In the evening 2 Dilatin 100 mg each 1 pheno 60 mg. 1 1/2 year ago they had me on 10 Dilatin a day 100 mg and 120 mg of Pheno everyday. I found a new doctor he's not a neuro. But regular doctor I have been going to him for years for flu etc. I got him to bring my dose down because no one was listening to me that I was walking around like a zombie. So I took the matter in my own hands. My seizures & everything that goes along with them are the same. So I guess this is normal and just something I will always have to deal with. Thanks for caring KittyMom and not thinking I am just lazy like my family thinks.
YoYo

And thanks to everyone else for the info.
