Is he on depakote? My brother who is 50 began to show these mood swings after his medication was changed to depakote. After six months on the drug, symptoms became much worse - hallucinations, psychosis, compulsive behavior, loss of short term memory, loss of reality. Please consider his meds, my sister-in-law didn't, and she left my brother
