Simple Partial Seizures

Hi everyone I have not been on in a while. I had a seizure yesturday and I have to say that even though they are not bad it is getting to me because I feel like it has put a stop into my life. I mean they are not grand mal but they still get to me and yes I have come to accept that i do indeed have them and probbaly will for the rest of my life but for some reason when i had one yesturday it got to me because i usually have them in the morning and i had one last night at 6:40 because i looked at the clock and it just really affected me.
I am still unable to drive and where i live it is really hard to not have a car because when you are off from work or want to go some where you have to reaily on others and even though my friends do not mind it I do because I feel like I am a burden. YEAH YEAH I know i'm just rambling but sometimes it makes me feel good to do this to people who understand.
Thanks for listening

Re: Simple Partial Seizures

I have (sensory) simple partial seizures on and off, but they don't interfere with driving. I get an overwhelming feeling of deja-vu, or fear when I have one. I'm always awake and alert through it.

Even when I have a Gran Mal... (only 8 in 6 years), they all happen while sleeping on my back, due to sleep apnea. I'm on only 300mg/day of phenytoin for the GM seizures, and up to 2mg/day for the anxiety and simple partials.
I still get to drive... just not while I'm asleep.
I understand completely... I'd be lost without my car.

Re: Simple Partial Seizures

tms....there is part of your post that really struck me...and then I realized I had mis-read it...you said..."... yes I have come to accept that I do indeed have them..." But...I read ...yes, I have come to accept that I do NEED to have them...

WOW!!! I thought...I NEED to have these seizures. For a brief moment the seizure disorder seemed right. I am supposed to have these. I think that thought or brief realization is gone now...but it felt good.

Thanks for your rambling....rambling is good.

Lamac

Thanks for the response. It helps to see that I am not the only one who at times hates the disorder.
