mri & mra

Do you have a problem with mri's or mra's? I need another one but the last mri I had a few years ago was a horrible experience & I swore I would never do it again but with new symptoms I know I should.

Also, have any of you had the mri where you can sit up? I can't remember the name of the machine but it looks like it would be much less stressful than even the open ones. Thanks.

Re: mri & mra

Hi Sammi2,

I usually have 2 MRI's per year. I understand how you feel, the first time around I was so anxious I had to have the Tech's stop and cancel the procedure. When I spoke to my doc about it, she wrote a prescription for valium. I take 1 or 2 tablets 20 minutes before procedure and it really mellows me out. I now hear they have open MRI's! I have not been in one, but I think it is less evasive then what you went through! Hang in there you will get through this!!
