Should my brother be concerned?

My mother had seizures as a child and then did not have them again until she was an adult, around mid 40's. At that time, she would have seizures fairly regularly until she passed away a few years ago.

I now have been diagnosed as having seizures that just started a few months ago and I am 35 years old.

My younger brother is 30 years old and had convulsions as an infant/toddler that was not brought on by fevers, etc. Should he be concerned that he may be high risk for seizures as well? I know since I have recently been diagnosed he is very concerned. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Re: Should my brother be concerned?

It's hard to say. Is there some genetic issue? Have either of you been exposed to the same environmental toxins? Has he had abnormal EEGs as an adult? He may get along fine, but might want to mention the family history, as well as his childhood seizure to his MD.
