Are any of you on this med and how well does it work for your seizures?

Tripp has been on Tegretol XR for many years. One thing that bothers me is he has always had a low white count 2.8. I have read that Tegretol does cause low white count and that Trileptal does not.

My son has been on Trileptal for a few years now along with depokene. We don't really see any adverse side effects, but his seizures are not well controlled either. When he first went on trileptal it seemed to work well, but now I am not so sure.

How much trileptal does he take? And the depokate is that ER or regular?

His last blood test showed Tegretol levels 11.1 and his depokate(reg) is 118. Neuro wants to test them again next week....BUT I am talking to our GP and asking him to do them tomorrow. 118 is TO high!!

What are the levels of your son?
Tripp is a small 26 year old 129 and 5'2"
He takes 400mg of Tegretol twice daily and 500 mg of Depokate morning and night with another 250 mg of Depokate in the afternon.

Brayden's last Depokene level was 108. So a little above theraputic, but not bad. Brayden has been on seizure medications since he was 8 months old and we have always had trouble with maintaining good theraputic levels.

His Depokene is a liquid compound, so not XR.

Brayden is 10 years old. He is 4 foot tall and 52 lbs. He takes 350 mg Trileptal twice a day and 400 mg Depokene twice a day.
