Taking meds into a concert

At the end of this month I am going to a "hippie" style concert, and I don't know if things are the same as where you live, but you basically get stripped searched before you go in (last year my boyfriend had to throw out his key ring?! Why I don't know but they wouldn't let him take it in)

I don't know if any of you have had had a problem taking your meds into events or not. My neuro said that I would be Ok if I have them in a pill case, but I take four different meds and I don't want to be haulling in for different pill cases. Plus I don't want them to think that I am trying to sneak in who knows what kind of pills just to get high during the show.

My neuro also said that if I had my medic alert bracelet on I should be ok, but I don't want to take any chances. I was planning on getting one of those little pill cases that you can buy at the drug store to keep them in, but I don't want to chance it and not beable to take them.

If anyone has any suggestions or has had to deal with this and could let me know what to do I'd appericate it!

Thanks!

Re: Taking meds into a concert

valerie I had this problem twice when going into a club, they wouldnt let me take them in not even in the pill case and was forced to take them in front of them at the door. Since then I take them before I go to a place and if i need them later I put them tightly in a piece of paper foil fold it and put them in your smallest pocket if ur wearing tight clothes is even better, since then I havent had no problems. Now if you cant get away with this, I suggest you bring your pills in the pill cases and bring a copy of the RX I done this too especially when I travel in the plane. Hope this can help you, Best of luck and have lots of fun

Re: Taking meds into a concert

I've been to a ton of concerts where I always forgot that I had my meds in my purse, and they were always either missed during the bag inspection at the door, or the person found them, and looked at the label and saw that it was a prescription and let me in. I've never had a problem.

Re: Taking meds into a concert

Bring in the "receipt" stickers that are the same as the labels that go on the bottles. Have your dose in the smallest pill container you have (a T-13 or T-16; or smaller if you can).

IF they object show them the pill labels in your name. Explain they are seizure meds and you need to take them at specific times.

I've never had problems, even when I forgot to take the labels with me at a courtroom. I think that the fact I could explain and ID the pills in front of the guy just like reciting my phone number helped convince him they were not street drugs.

I've never had issue with this at gigs. If a person has their scripts on them, and it's not something like oxycontin in mass quantity we never had problems. If it was only one or two doses we would let them pass. Otherwise what if something happened due to them NOT taking their dose.

Re: Taking meds into a concert

if you think it's going 2 be that much of a problem i suggest putting your meds in a plastic baggie and carrying them in your bra until you get past the gate. don't ask how i know about this.
