Lamictal and pregnancy.
Hi. I am currently taking 150 mg of Lamictal (a.m. & p.m.). I am 13 weeks pregnant and a little worried of what affects it would have on my baby. My O/B isn't too familiar with this particular drug. I am taking no other meds other than a prenatal vitamin and folic acid, and I'm otherwise very healthy with no family history of birthdefects of any kind. Has anyone had a similar experience? If so, how was your pregnancy/baby? Any feedback would be so much appreciated!! Thank you!

I heard that Lamictal is the safest AED to be on while pregnant.
I want to switch to it soon because I eventually want to have kids someday, but I am on Tegretol, which is supposedly bad for the baby while you're pregnant (though I have heard of a lot of cases where a woman was on Tegretol through her pregnancy and her baby was fine).

Thank you so much for your reply. I was just a little nervous that my dr. doesn't know too much (or anything) about this drug. I've heard there are risks, but haven't heard any more specific details beyond that. Good luck with your switch! I hope it goes well!!
