| Hyper on Trileptal
Hello~ I have an 8 yr. old son, who has been on Trileptal for 3 yrs. and Tenex, for rapid thoughts for 2yrs now. We have recently discovered that the bizarre episodes of standing and staring, and this last episode which I thought was heat exhaustion was actually an "absence seizure." Because of this diagnosed recent seizure his Trileptal was upped a bit to prevent another seizure since then he has been pretty hyper. Not able to sleep or eat and is more defiant than norm and some level of grandiose. Very highly agitated too. Like an agitated manic state... Before this past seizure he was doing fine... stable with mood swings that we were able to redirect. At least civil when redirected. Anyone share the same side effects to Trileptal? or could the recent seizure have something to do with it? Thoughts anyone?
