| Re: Is there Epilepsy while sleeping?
Hi Dave
My b/f has night epilepsy he has never had a siezure while awake in the apparent 12 years of having epilepsy. He currently sees a neuro and is taking tegratol for his siezures, he has recently had some problems with his medication however we find his major trigger is stress he has a little difficulty getting to sleep on these days and i am sure this also is another trigger late nights 2 or 3 in a row. I am sure if you persist with your gp he will take note also I find keeping a diary of the day and his mood etc has helped find his triggers in turn is assisting me with early recognition as some nights i sleep right through a siezure i also have a bell on the bed head that now alerts me to a siezure.I really wish you the best with trying to get an answer but hang in there. We are in australia and his neuro has told us that as long as his seizures remain nocturnal then there is no risk in driving and they wont take his licence that for us is a possitive.
hope this helps
