generic meds

I was recently swiched to a generic med (because of the insurance). I've been having a few more sezs since then. Could this be the cause. Should I tell the neuro that I should be taking brand name ones?

Re: generic meds

valeriedl, generics could be the cause. According to my neurologist, the amount of the active ingredient is controlled more precisely in name brand drugs than in generics. This will control your blood level more precisely.

So, even though you may take your meds on time every day, your blood level will vary more with generics and this could lead to more seizures.

If you can afford the name brand, ask your neurologist if you can switch to them.
Choose your specialist and you choose your disease.
