Anyone have these symptoms

Hi, has anyone ever experienced anything like this. Since I was little I would get whole body jerks. I can be walking and all of a sudden I just jerk. It is like a shock in my brain when this happens. Not often and I can go months and not have it and then it happens again. Also I have these episodes where I feel disconnected from myself. It is hard to describe but it is like my limbs, fingers toes feel like balloons, very large and everything looks and feels very far away and I stare. Like I cannot shift my focus. My eyes are locked. This lasts for a few minutes and also comes and goes. My son has epilepsy and I am wondering if this is some type of seizure disorder?

Hi There.
I do not know if that would classify as Epilepsy.
You may want to have an EEG and MRI done to see what is going on in your brain.
Some of the symtoms that you have is what I have though, so that kind of throws me off, as I have Epilepsy.

I have the jerks you are talking about but have never thought of them as a form of epilepsy. However another family member does have epilepsy so maybe there is a connection.

My jerks started when i was on a type of medication. I later came off that medication but they are still happening. It doesn't bother me though and i find them quite humerous.

I also experience something similar to the disconnection you are talking about but i only ever experience it when i am very tired! (i work an early shift so am up at 5am and will experience it for the first ocuple of hours of work)

Have you found ways of stopping either?

Thank you for the replies. No have not found a way to stop them. It is nothing severe but since my son was diagnosed it made me wonder if I could have some type of seizure disorder and could have passed it on to him.
