Re: what do i need to do when seizure occur

Let it work its course. If it is a tonic-clonic "grand mal" seizure, meaning, convulsive seizure, make sure the person seizing is on his/her side so that saliva can flow from his/her mouth.

If the seizure lasts longer than five minutes or is followed by another, call an ambulance.

DO NOT put anything in the mouth. That is the movies only.

If seizures recently started you may need to find a hospital or doctor that is trained in neurology (electrical activity of the brain) and get examined.

The "recovery time" after a seizure can last from almost nothing to half an hour until the person is back to functioning normally. Almost every case if different. People can feel sleepy (exhausted) after a seizure if it was one of "the big ones". That side effect is common.
