I've been on Lamictal for about 3 weeks now & was on Keppra beforehand but couldn't handle the side effects. I've noticed on this board that alot of you had problems with Lamictal, but I think Lamictal has been amazing for me. I actually know what I'm doing on this drug.
On Keppra I felt like I had thick fog in my head instead of a brain, I struggled getting my words out, slurred all the time, could'nt balance very well, & generally just looked like a drunk. Not only that but it didn't help my seizures at all, they got 10x worse, & I was stupidly emotional; getting really angry, then crying for no reason whatsoever.
I really hope Lamictal continues to do what it's doing because it's working so much better than the Keppra. I'm me again.
Instead of getting up in the morning & taking drugs throughout the day, I feel like with these I'm not even taking drugs. I'm fully functional.
Who else has or had found an AED that worked perfectly for them? Let's hear your stories. The good stories are just as relevant as the bad, & at the moment all we seem to be doing is putting people off trying different drugs.
