Hi all

Back in May of this year i had two seizures in the space of 24 hours...i hadnt had one for 14 years so it came as a shock. I was put on 1000mg of Keppra which i am still taking and have had no more seizures since. I had an EEG and MRI scan done in June and the results were normal.....i havent seen a neuro yet as my refferal was lost in the system (thats the NHS for you!!) anyway after much complaining and emailing i have finally go my appointment through which in is 3 weeks!!! What i am wondering though is when i had my first ever siezure when i was 12 and had an MRI and EEg then they both came back as normal so i had to have anothe EEg and had a seizure which then picked up the epilepsy..could history be repeating itself???

Andrea01: I chatted with you a few months ago. I just looked at some of the posts. Yes, history can be repeating itself. This is probably hormonal. If you started having seizures at 12 yrs. old and now again at 36 yrs. old, it is caused by the changes in the hormones in the brain. The hormones affect the brain more than you think. You probably need some hormone replacement. It's good that the Keppra is controlling your seizures. It doesn't control mine. The eeg's and tests could come up normal because this is caused by the hormone changes. I hope you get some answers.

Yes i remember now lol (my memory is still rubbish lolol) I am beginning to believe that it could be a hormonal thing...i keep a migraine diary and i only have one week free of migraines...its a headache clinic that i am attending so wondering if they think it is related...still will get to find out soon enough

Sorry to hear the keppra isnt working for you

Are you taking anything else alongside it or are you still haveing the seizures
