Will my seizures ever go away?

I started having seizures around my 13th birthday. I'm not sure if it was the stress of my mom leaving my dad and i or if it was me starting my period or whatever.I'm almost 19 now though. All i know is i have nocturnal grand Mal seizures. The doctor i went to quit his job. And now i need to find a new one. Taking suggestions from anyone in Michigan, by the way for a new doctor. Any input would be great thanks.

Re: Will my seizures ever go away?

LaurenMarieb: Please check out a post that I made yesterday or the day before under " Could I be having seizures in my sleep?" by XJMasonX. It is about Catamenial Epilepsy. It's a long post and if I don't have to type it all over again it would be good. It fits right in with your problems. Hope it helps answer some questions.

Re: Will my seizures ever go away?

Lauren, I also have grand Mal seizures in my sleep. The medication I am on is lamictal. Since I have been taking it I have had no seizures. My doctor put me on it because it has low side effects and will not affect my fertility when I get older. Look into it, it's worth it.

i was on lamictal for almost a year then i started having seizures though it so the doctor put me on topamax also. then my insurance got cancelled and i couldnt afford it anymore. so i got put on zonegran which is keeping me free and clear of seizures what im basically wondering is if its possible for someone to start having seizures and then to grow out of them. or if ill end up having them forever. my doctor told me ill prolly have them forever. and have trouble in the future having children since they arent clear what causes them (i,e, foods, noises.) i think so far its certain teas and when the dryer runs at night. but iono.
