Well the Dr called me in the office with news about my MRI they found a area that has been damaged. They say that is what is causeing my seizures. There testing me for a stroke but the Dr said he feels the damage is too high to be a stroke and the next step after clearing the stroke is to do a biopsy. Has anyone had a brain biopsy and have some words for me.

Sorry, can't help you..but my MRI report showed that at some point I had a small stroke but it was "nothing to worry about." Stroke. Nothing to worry about? Oooookay.
It also showed some kind of chronic brain something or other that he never explained. When I see him in March, I'll be sure to ask.
A brain bipsy has never been mentioned. Just more drugs.

I haven't had a brain biopsy. But I can tell you I had a stroke in Jan. of 2010 and got epilespy in June of the year due to the stroke. My brain is is re-firing in the wrong place is what the dr. told me. So as far as your situation, I don't know, but I do understand it 100%
I have been in the hopital probably 3 months this year of 2011. Our problems with the brain - the doctors don't know crap. They try, but they don't know. If our brain was a broken arm, then they could set, put on a sling and see you in 4 weeks..
Any way. I wouldn't worry about the biosopy.

I have found out that I have a tumor grade 3 they took out as much of the tumor as they could now I start radiation on the 9th and also start chemo so now we wait and see if that all helps slow it doen or stop it

I really don't know what to say. I do know that I am here. I am fairly smart with the last brain cells I have to left. I don't know what your position is, but you can can ask or tell me anything and I will respond as much truly as I can. I have had many people thank me for my response to them.
I had a stroke and then epilepsy. I don't hate life most of the time So I will ask if you question it you want. It seems like your post was more like a rant, but I don't know. I have found that we don't don't get qucik responses on the epi board and I thing most of us can't really. So I am doing my best my frined.

I think when they discovered my brain tumor when I was a kid, the pathology results were grade 1 and 2 (low grade) when they had removed the tissue.
I wish I could say more to help you with this. I'm likely heading back in for surgery to remove the damaged tissue (what they call epileptic tissue) next month. Family is on pins and needles but I am rather calm about it. They have opened me up 3 times in my life; twice within a week just before Christmas, no problems.

I had brain surgery to remove the damaged part of my brain back in June. They did a biopsy on it to check for cancerous cells and it came back negative. The cause of my fits was a scar on my brain caused from my body overheating when I had meningitis 41 yrs ago as a 6 week old baby. Since surgery, I have had no fits at all!
It was a scary experience knowing a major part of my body was being removed, but all for the better. And once the biopsy is done and they know for certain what they are looking at, they can treat a lot quicker and more directly, rather than "experiment" and see which drugs work.
