Re: Keppra and pregnancy Part II... Second baby on the way!!

Awwww Im so excited for you, a little boy its going to complete your family, CONGRATS!! But ontop of everythign Im more happy to hear his doing well so far and that you are too. I still know of some women on lamictal that had helthy babies as well, but I agree neuros are using the Keppra more now for pregnancies. Hey 5 motnhs was great, and I know with your second you will go longer just continue to take your vitamins and eat healthy and lots of fruits n water so you can continue to produce milk. There are diets you can research and even nutritionist can give you a list of foods that actually help produce more natural milk in you. But for now just relax and enjoy your lil bud, time sure did fly this time around for me and Im still in shock that baby its almost here. Im seeing the OB/ultrasounds weekly now but keppra levels and all other test came back normal so Im Happy. Now do you still get seizures
or no? are you attending the high risk OB? we talk soon..

P.S. Love the optimistic side of you. Im the same, very positive and outgoing. if we didn't take the risk we would never been where we are today. Also Thanks to God!

Godbless

Re: Keppra and pregnancy Part II... Second baby on the way!!

Well Im 2 days away from my due date and this lilttle girl doesn't want to come out I guess.. Well Im going to get induced again in 2 days if she doesn't come out by herself in these last 2 days. I actually would preffer the induction since it went so good for me with my first daughter. Im just Happy to know I made it through another pregnancy under keppra and baby its healthy and I stayed seizure free and healthy as well. It was so worth it. Now time to meet my second baby girl this week. Ill post after she has arrived. Godbless you all!

Re: Keppra and pregnancy Part II... Second baby on the way!!

It's Krystal and I am 25 weeks strong...due date July 15. All is going well. Feeling lots of movement. Have had 3 ultrasounds. It's a boy. Husband is very excited. I did end up giving myself heparin shots 2X a day because of autoimmune issues, but Kepra has done well. Still on 2000 mg/day and levels within acceptable range. Levels are checked monthly. Thanks for the bit about breastfeeding because I was wondering about that recently. I pray your new baby girl is here and well! God bless.

Re: Keppra and pregnancy Part II... Second baby on the way!!

Well hi there ladies. Frist of Congrats Krystal and i do hope all keeps going perfect with the rest of the pregnancy. ya both will be fine and so will the boys. My update: baby girl born this past saturday 3-30 at 8:45am. i went in the night before with contractions, since I was already 4cm opened they gave me cytotec (a med to dialate me faster) and within 4 hrs i jumped to 10 cms. Since baby girl was high we waitted 2 more hrs and by 830am I began the pushing, she was out in 15 minutes exactly. She was 7lbs 5ozs, and 20 inches long. Bigger then my oldest. I began breastfeeding an hour after birth and so far she's doing great. We just got home 4 hours ago so Ill be checking in through out. Follow up for baby os in 2 days, and mine as usual in 6 weeks and neuro in 2 months or so. Do keep me posted with your pregnancies and any questions please feel free to ask, I will keep ya in my prayers.

Second Daughter tatiana born 3/30/13 healthy and breastfeeding

Re: Keppra and pregnancy Part II... Second baby is Here :)

Hi there ladies! I know Its been a while since I wrote, but caring for a newborn and 2 yr old its not easy. This is just a quick update. My baby girl Tatiana its almost 5 months (on the 30th) old and weights 17 pounds Dr finds her in great health, and she's only been breastfeed. She was born with a GERD problem (acid reflux) and we saw the specialist who placed her on a med to help her. She has seen done a lot better and now almost 5 months later seems to have outgrown it. She sleeps with me, so I notice how she finally sleeps all night, and no longer throws up. She's happier and so am I. Aside from the GERD, she has no issues and I plan to start her on cereal at 5 months. My oldest is also doing great, gained weight and outgrew her allergies
Regarding the keppra, they both did well nursing while I been on keppra, and I plan to nurse the second for at least at year as well. I did great with post partum and past my 6 week PP check up. Now I have my Neuro apt next month where Ill discuss weaning off the Keppra (currently on 1000mg BID). I dont plan to have any more children, but Im also tired of taking daily meds. I know it will take more years to come. because it cant be rushed, but I pray one day to be off. We'll see what the neuro tells me. For now I'm just excited and Very Blessed to have been able to give birth to 2 beautiful baby girls while on keppra and after a brain surgery. I Thank God everyday for such Blessings! Overall I cant complain because both Labors were also easy and fast. My first lasted 31 mins, and my second only 15 mins of pushing. I feel truly Blessed!!!
Now ladies I want to hear about your births. How was you births? How are the baby boys doing? You guys still on the meds? Write when ya can, i know its hard to find time while caring for newborns. I Pray all is going well for ya. God Bless ladies
