I found out that I had Epilepsy 4 years ago the first seizure I fell in a swimming pool thank god someone was there or I would have drowned.anyway about the last two years I have been telling my doctors and bad headaches and jerking he has done no blood test in almost 2 years and no other test in August of this year I was in a bad car wreck they said I had a seizure I ran a stop sign they said and a car hit my drivers door I broke 4 bones in my pelvis collapsed lung concussion, crushed vertebrae in back.I was in the hospital a week and completely bedridden for 6 weeks.I finally started getting better by October of this year from the wreck. Can I sue my doctor because of this or no?
Thank You

Re: Car Wreck -Seizure

Oh, that's horrible! So sorry. Your doctor told you that you have epilepsy? Did he put you on any meds and tell you not to drive for at least six months before you got behind the wheel after your last seizure? A blood test wouldn't show epilepsy. He/she should have given you at CAT SCAN or MRI if he/she suspected epilepsy. But again, were you on any meds?

If not, then I (in my opinion) don't really see how you can sue as you pretty much took matters into your own hands when you chose to drive. Your injuries were horrible but I hope no one else was injured.
If anything, in my opinion again, I would start with the doctor and ask why you aren't on meds. and why those tests weren't performed and epilepsy was suspected...explain how you were in a really bad car wreck and all of the horrible experiences you've had to endure since the crash.
And who told you that you had a seizure in the first place when you ran the red light?

Wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery!
