Abdominal Strain Help Wanted!!
Hi, first post. About a month ago started new core exercises from 0 fitness.Upset something and it was sore in the side of my stomach but ignored it and kept resting and then going back to the exercises. Stupid I know but when I mentioned to Osteopath initially he said nothing serious. Anyway 2 weeks ago and lifting something not too heavy and searing stabbing pain on my right hand side. Really painful.then I started belching. Really sore. So I went to my MD and he said a torn abdomen muscle but no hernia. Said to rest it but it could take 6 weeks!!
Now after a week I did feel a little better so I drove to work only to last 2 hours and had to come home. It looks like I caused it to flare up and after 3 days of resting and ice a lot of the pain has gone but I have to take it really (like really) easy otherwise the pain comes back along with the belching.
The MD says there is nothing but patience, time and proper rest (lying back as much as possible to rest the stomach).This is beginning to freak me out as healing is so slow and I have kids and work. I know I went to MD but any feedback from people who have had similar would really help
