Question New to the gym

Hello all
I have a easy question for those of you that have a good gym routine, I just started working out at the gym and really need a good routine to follow. My main goal right now is to lose 10lbs and really tone up all parts of my body. Since I have just started I'm doing a lot of cardio to 1. condition my body with working out and 2. to lose weight. I want to start on weight lifting also but not sure in order I should go in to see the best results. Any suggestions???

Re: New to the gym

my suggestion to you would be to start with the machine circuit, until you are familiar with the muscles groups and have established a base line fitness.
keep up the cardio and add the weights in 3-4 times a week, you could also have a trainer at the club start you on a simple routine in the weight room. I usually start my clients with a basic 2 movements per bodypart until they are ready to move on.

Re: New to the gym

When I stared working out, I just could not quite grasp everything right away, I had took some classes at a local college, I then kept reading about the body, I finally joined the local YMCA, I am amazed at how your body adapts with patience, so I like to add find somthing you enjoy, read exercise material, try different things so if you get bored, at least you will allready know what else you will like to do. Add things slowly, like every I,ll say 4-6 weeks "longer if you like".
