Chronic Pain Exercise

Hello everyone I have lower back pain for the last 7 years my L2-L3-degenerative disc disease L4-crushed and partical bone loss and L5-S1-nerve pain. I have been to a pain specialist and also a nero surgeoun I was told from my Nero that because of my age 42 and am in pretty good shape and an operation could make things worse. I had been walking with a cane due to my Physio doing something very wrong. Anyhow all I have been doing is walking and after 6 months no more cane and managing to do this on my own. I want to keep up walking but am I doing the right thing? Any sugguestions would really help.

Re: Chronic Pain Exercise

Dear Canelady.
I reckon you might get more response on the "Back Problems" board. Don't mean to sound condescending.
I have a fusion of L1/T12 due to an automobile accident yrs ago. I swim to keep fit. Only thing that is low impact enough for me. I know your problem is vastly different.
Congrats on ditching the cane.
Will you have any comeback on the physio that mucked you up?
Good Luck
