Hello, i try to eat pretty healthy, i lift weights 3 times a week, and i run for 30 minutes at a rate of 7 mph, 5 days a week, my body is looking pretty good, but that last tiny bit of fat that covers the loqer abs just refuses to go away, what am i doing wrong?
I've only lost about 5 pounds on my diet so far. 3000 seems like quite a lot, even for your size...I could be wrong though. The only thing I can think of is maybe reduce your calories a bit, and vary your exercises. Your body is probably used to the normal exercise routine you have, but if you vary it up a little bit, it will wake up your body and it will probably start burning more than it's used to. Hope that helps.
Thanks, but how would i go about varying runnning? also, i dont eat 3000 calories, i eat about 1500 or so a day, just wondering if maybe im not eating enough.
well, to vary running... it's really easy. you don't just go out there and do 30 minutes at one speed. do something like 15 min at your normal speed, then increase to a faster speed for 3 min and do really easy for 2 min.
changing it up like that will help you lose weight AND it will also make you run faster in general. that is how people that run long distances get faster.
Calories are WAY low, especially for that much exercise. Add 200 or 300 at least. Calories at 1700-1900 distributed into 5 or 6 small meals through the day.
Might need to check content though. Getting enough protein? No junk? Avoiding refined high GI carbs? Getting enough fats? That last little bit of fat can be hard to lose and it's probably going to rely mostly on your diet. But if you have everything in check, it will go away.

hey,
I know exactly how you feel.. in the same boat. How long have you been working out and how long have you been expecting these changes? Maybe allow more time... and if possible try to do more cardio... you are doing awesome already, just to get that movies star look prolly requires alot more effort than someone who has a life and work. You are eating awesome too, Good luck
hi ross! wow, i'm in a pretty similar situation, but i know the little bit won't go away because i really can't give up my ice cream and cookies every now and then
however, when I was a little bit more strict with myself, I had GREAT results varying cardio. that means if i did treadmill today, tomorrow is running outside, elliptical trainer, bike, or jumprope. or, if no choice but to run again, varying the intervals. if today i did 3 min light run 1 minute sprint for 30 minutes, next day would be 4 minutes light 2 minute sprint, maybe 1 min/1 min for 5 min towards the end. it shakes your body up a bit.
another tip? I LOST weight by increasing calories. sometimes your body hangs on to stomach fat because it doesn't think it's getting enough food.
Thank you, that is exactly what I was thinking, I was thinking that i was not eating enough calories and tthat my body is burning muscle for fuel trying to save that last bit of fat. I will try to eat more in the form of adding another meal.
I would again like to thank everyone that has responded to my post, thank you all and if anyone wants to post anything i will be more than happy to read it thank you all again.
