You should take one day a week to rest so your body has a chance to recouperate from the abuse you're inflicting

, but if you really need to do something active, keep it light, like swimming or biking (easier on aching calves). Your calves will probably be a lot better tomorrow as calves seem to recover fairly quickly. Maybe just a walk in the park.

I like to hike on the weekends, but that's not so aching-calves friendly.
