How many ab crunches should you do daily, is 100 ok? or is 50 to much ... etc... and what is an Overhead Extension, is it the same as the Tricep Extension?
Overhead extension is using both hands to hold the dumbbell behind your head and pushing up. It is another Tricep exercise. Using a bench, you can do a similar exercise while lying down.
what!?!?! 1000 !?!?!? you sure you don't mean 100 .... because after 50 my abs are real sore, and AI try and push to 100, by the time im done 100 im almost dead and cant do one more..... well okk this guy does 1 000, but any other people who are at my level? is 100 or is even 50 ok?
how long does that usually take? cause counting demotivates me a lot. i get bored and annoyed by the numbers when im trying to concentrate on doing crunches and just want to get my mind clear and listen to the music and encourage myself. maybe i should let someone else count them for me so i know how long i should do them.
Blistex do you have a washboard stomach? and by 5 sets of 200, by sets, I mean how much rest time are we talking about? is it like 5 sets any time in the day or like 5 sets, with 5 second rests ? and what time of the day,, morning, night evening!??
Ok to whomever asked the original question, what is your goal, what is the current state of your abs, do you have a layer of fat over them, or flat already?
Im a male, age 16 i have a layer of flab over it but eg. when I stretch i can feel my rockhard abs, i can flex them and poke on it and they are rock hard, the problem is they have fat over them, I know ur probably gonna say do alot of cardio, but I did read somewhere the crunches is a type of cardio and you lose weight all over? by the way, im the original poster
Yea, crunches will help, but not in the sense you are looking for. Its like this, if you dont use it, you lose it..im sure you have heard that before. Hypethetically, say you have little body fat and can see your abs. If you dont work them out you will just have a flat tummy, if you do ab exercises they will have definition. As opposed to cardio, if you do 1000's of crunches at a high enough rate to raise your heart rate, yea, its cardio then...but good luck with that.....If you increase the MUSCLE size of your abdominal muscles, they will burn more calories, as like if you increase lean mass of any muscle...
SO..crunches are good, but alone you are not going to see your abs... you need to do a full body workout and cardio to see your abs....
think of cardio this way... What do you think uses more gas per mile, a MACK truck, or a honda civic?? So which do you think burns more calories, working your abs, or working your legs which are anywhere from 3x as big or more?? Now, working your legs, abs, arms, chest, back?? Exactly, MORE CALORIE BURNING..
ok so how many cardio is necessary? I mean I've read that atleast 45 minutes in the morning is good ... but see I'm busy (cant go into that much) but I cant do anything in the morning, and in the evening/afternoon I tried once to do 45 minutes, but I was like dieing after 20 minutes non stop jogging.... What I can do tho is 12 mins non stop jog paced out, and then 10 minutes walking back to my house... is this good enough cardiO?
You don't necessarily need to plunge into it. No one expects you to be a marathon runner or anything over night. Ease into it, do what you can, and if EACH*stressted* time you push yourself a littler further, you will be where you need to be. If 20 minutes is all you can do for now, increase the intensity. Wind sprints..Walk at a steady pace for 3 min to warm up, say 3mph..then sprint hard for say a minute, then walk for 2 min, then sprint again.. each time trying to go harder and longer, and shorten the recovery time(the walking)..You gotta sweat... Yes, morning would be better, but do what you can, eat right..Losing body fat is 100x harder then it is putting it on, so if you feel like you can do more at any time, do it..Like if you are walking back home after your jog, and you think you can still jog a little home, then walk, then jog, do it. Jump rope, or just jumping jacks are both great cardio workouts..
And watch your diet. A healthy diet can really help, especially if your cardio time is limited.
An idea for the counting: Time yourself to see how long it takes you to do 50 sit ups (assuming you keep a similar pace every time). Then you can time your sets instead of counting them. I've never tried this, so I don't know if it will work, but it's worth a try. Better than not doing crunches because you hate counting
hi everyone. How about how to handle your lower stomach? I had a baby 8 months ago and need to lose 10 pounds. I know how to do crunches but the ones I do for the lower stomach do nothing for me. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
