home workout videos?

can anyone tell me their favorites? When the weather gets too hot and humit I loathe exercising outdoors so I thought a home video would be a smart alternative.

But there are so may on the market!! I'd love some help narrowing it down to the good ones.

A little about what I'm looking for:

I want something that will be good for cardio and weight loss. I don't really have any special equipment at home so I'd like to not have to buy more to do the video.

Re: home workout videos?

I have reviewed Slim in 6 and it appears to be a good combination of cardio and weight training - good for weight loss. I decided to start this program this week. Not knowing your fitness level, the Walk Away the Pounds videos are good also.

Re: home workout videos?

Lady, I bought a book called 8 minutes in the morning from Jorge Cruz. Of course 8 minutes alone is not going to do the job, but the fantastic thing about it is that it gives u the exercises that u do for 5 days a week, picture illustrations and all you need are a few weights, chair exercise mat. I did that with the treadmill. Very practical, you can check out the book, the exercises are quite effective and by increasing the reps will produce better results. Also Tae Bo is great too.

Re: home workout videos?

I second the Slim in 6. I have used it for 5 weeks and have lost 12 inches total not even following the plan to the T. It definetely shapes your muscles.

Re: home workout videos?

Lady,
I have a bunch of home workout videos that I like. I have Emergency Workout by Minna Lessig which is 20 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes of weights. I also have the Fat Eliminator and Strength and Grace (both also by Minna Lessig) which combines yoga and pilates. I have a bunch of Billy Blanks' Tae Bo videos. But my favorite ones are the dance videos I have, like Keep It Movin' and Hip Hop Body Shop Buns and Thighs.

Just curious, for those who tried slim in 6, what diet changes did you make, and whats the gist of the program?

Re: home workout videos?

kathy smith weight loss workout which includes segments with cardio, weights, and squats and is moderate footwork. that one is my ultimate favorite. and to be easy on the joints, step workouts burn as many calories as running 7.7 mph and is virtually easy on the joints. my second favorite workout would be fat burning breakthrough (step) by kathy which includes weight training. last but certainly not least is the firm for REALLY toning. the firm is serious weight training. when you get really advanced with your choreography, try cathe freidercih. good luck!
