Medicine Ball

I began doing squats in my workout. Will holding a medicine ball as I do them make my butt/thighs smaller or bigger?? Is it better to do squats without the medicine ball??

What are the best situps/exercise that best works the obliques??

Hello, The exercise you are doing with a medicine ball is great! It will firm up your thighs, butt, and abs due to the weight of the ball and the balance it takes to not fall backwards. I'm not a sit-up person. I just feel sit-ups are hard on the back. Side crunches are good for obliques. You can do them with lying on the floor with your knees bent and bring just your shoulders off the floor and slowly roll/turn your waist from side to side then back down. (Repeat 10-15 times.) If that isn't for you; then you can get into crunch position, cross one leg over your other bent knee, and lift your shoulders up off the floor toward the bent knee and down. (Repeat 10 times on each side.)

Thank you much for the information. One more question, will doing the squats with the medicine ball make my thighs smaller quicker, or will they stay the same size just toned??

Thanks-

Wow, the only thing I can think of is to make sure you are well balanced on your feet. You could very easily hurt your back by using your back muscles to balance the ball while doing the squats. I'd be careful with this one, though it does sound like it could be pretty good.
