Here's a tip and please take note:
STOP running 3-5 miles a day!
This will result in stress fractures in your legs. You must rest your body!
I would also suggest going to a "real" running store where they can analyze your gait and suggest the right kind of shoe for you. And I would ask what is better? Spending $100 on shoes or messing up your legs and feet?
Do you pronate or supinate?
Check the tread on a worn pair of shoes and see if the inside or outside is worn more than the other. If the inside is worn more than the outside than you overpronate. If the opposite is true, you supinate or underpronate.
