Absolutely. Check out the Arnold Classic Competition website and the Fitness and Figure division. There are smaller national championships, but thats a basic idea of the 'Brass Ring" of competitive fitness models.

I'm very fair...and I love my fair skin! But I have also read somewhere that you have to have a real strong tan for the industry, lol is this true as well? Or can I break down those tanning walls!
|
That will never happen. The deep tans that competitors have is because it best shows the muscular definition. Some women use the fake tan stuff, but if you have any hope in competition, you cannot be pasty. Sorry.

One more thing....I'm a very modest person...and I dont agree with women posing really sexy for magazines like FHM and MAXIM. Do you think fitness modelling can even be considered sexy?
|
I don't think the modeling for competition itself is inherently sexy, not by design anyway. Now, seeing extraordinarily beautiful bodies is always going to be hot, but the *point* of competition is to showcase your hard work. Like sculptors showing off their pieces at a show, but it just happens to be your body. Take a look at most of the (sometimes extremely silly) costumes used. Not your run-of-the-mill FHM skimpy fare. You'll find that most people who appreciate/judge the competitions take a rather clinical approach to it. They will tell you that you have great glutes without implying that you have a nice a$$, if that makes any sense.
There are a couple of FAQ pages out there for "How do I get started in Figure/Fitness competitions?" written by competitors and trainers. Good info if you reconsider the tan and want to go for it. Hope that helps.
