I think you are over-training, usually the longer you go the more you can lift, assuming your getting enough rest time and proper nutrition.
I just recently took a break and getting back into the heavy routine I maintained for 5 months is VERY hard now, I wont be taking such a big break again.
Maybe you should post an idea of your workout routine, we can probably tell you whether or not your muscle groups are getting the right amount of rest that they need.
