Question Take A Break From Weight Training??

I've been weight training for the past 3 months, and lately, instead of being able to lift more or maintain what I can lift, I have been having a harder time doing either of those. Is it time to take a break, and for how long?

whats your nutrition like?? you training habits?? how often per week?? your sleeping/resting habits?? your genetics?? i think all these factor into what you can lift or the rate at which you progress.

3 months is not that much time. Give it time. Nutrition is the key to grow.

I would like to see the info that IIw03c requested as that is important to see if you are overtraining. While three months isn't long it is long enough to overtrain if you are doing things optimally (to much training, too little rest and less than great nutrition) You should have measurable gains every three - four weeks or you need to "tweak" your program.

I think you are over-training, usually the longer you go the more you can lift, assuming your getting enough rest time and proper nutrition.

I just recently took a break and getting back into the heavy routine I maintained for 5 months is VERY hard now, I wont be taking such a big break again.

Maybe you should post an idea of your workout routine, we can probably tell you whether or not your muscle groups are getting the right amount of rest that they need.
