If the love handles (I just love that name for them!) are from a bit of extra fat, then losing fat in general (by burning more calories in exercise and/or eating fewer calories) will make all the pads of fat on your body smaller. If they are from flabby muscles, which is the case for most of us

then I'm sad to say that only regular abdominal exercises will tighten up the muscles and thereby make the love handles go away.
