whats the best way to get nice abs?

Ok ever since I can remember I have been unhappy with my stomach. I am not overweight and I am actually skinny everwhere else. I have one of those body types were the weight goes to my chest and stomach. I am a 22 yr old female and had a baby a year ago and now it is worse! I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight but I swear my stomach looks worse than ever. I am 5'3 115 lb so I don't think that is overweight. But my stomach is so flabby and I have a "tire" so to speak. What can I do besides sit ups to get it flat and toned?

Getting your stomach flat and toned, is a combo of diet, ab work, and cardio. You need to unfortunately have all three. Eat 5 to 6 small meals a day that are low calorie, nutritionally-packed foods. Meals more frequently reves up the metabolism and smaller meals don't expand your stomach. In other words...lots of broccoli, carrots, and dark leafy greens. Also lean meats like skinless grilled chicken, turkey, or salmon here and there. Drink a lot of ice water and stay away from the whites (white bread, whites rice, white sugar, and white flour). If you have to eat carbs, pick plain brown rice. As far as bread or flour, use only sparingly whole wheat bread and whole wheat flour. Stay away from salt and butter. Do about 25 minutes of abs either every day or every other day. Cardio every day.....run for half an hour. You should notice results in two months of being disciplined.

Re: whats the best way to get nice abs?

Hi Besafe20, I hear where your coming from, I had twins about a year ago and know about the deflated tire look. Losing that is different then someone trying to tone up their abs. I don't want to be a downer, but I know in most cases of pregnancy that deflated tire look your talking about is stretched out skin, not necessarily fat. Especially since you said you are back to your prepreg weight (congrats on that). Its like the elastic on your pants, once it gets stretched out it doesn't really bounce back the same. You can always improve upon it, but don't expect it to go back to what it was prepreg or to go back to a flat stomach of a woman who never had children. Only a tummy tuck surgery can fix that completely, although I am not recommending that. I would say a good diet and exercise will help a bit.
