Best Tasting and Best Effective Shake

Just curious what people think, I got stuck with Vanilla from GNC....I wouldn't wish that stuff upon my worst enemy. Any suggestions?

Re: Best Tasting and Best Effective Shake

Hi Nic - are you looking for an MRP or a strict protein?

Re: Best Tasting and Best Effective Shake

I would assume just protein. But I'm not aware of what MPR is....

Meal replacement Powder - full boat, carbs, Fat and Protein

As far as a strict protein I like AST VP2 Protein Isolate. It is vert high quality and the taste is OK. Nutrition before taste!

I don't like vanilla flavoring too much, but the GNC chocolate flavored whey protein powder tastes pretty good.

As far as strict protein I do like the Gnc brand Cookies and Cream. I mix mine with no fat or skim milk in a blender.

Re: Best Tasting and Best Effective Shake

Is the mpr a good deal......I assume it can be healthy or they wouldn't have it, but can you give me more insight into it? 2 times a day and 1 reg meal? or just like a lunch thing.....would I still have 5 "meals" a day, etc etc.

Re: Best Tasting and Best Effective Shake

The highest quality protein is usually not found in a MRP. A MRP is a great option for a quick meal when you need to eat 5-7 times a day. It is just a piece of the overall diet and the best bet is to find one that fits into your overall diet plan, (e.g., high carb, low carb, specific calories) I eat 6 times per day and use 2 MRP's in my personal plan. I usually won't use more than 2 a day with clients and if you have only 3 meals a day (which I don't recommend ) I would not use 2 MRP's.

Re: Best Tasting and Best Effective Shake

I just recall the annoying slimfast commercials.....but what would be a good MPR to get, and then perhaps the GNC for the protien shake for after working out. I don't care if it's like 60$ a month, whatever, I just know I need to eat better and get more vitamins, protein, etc etc. Thanks again guys.

Re: Best Tasting and Best Effective Shake

I have to say I just started using Myoplex post-workout and I REALLY like it... it mixes up nice and thick and really tastes lik something that shouldn't be good for you. I do the protein-only shake thing once a day (EAS Whey Protein) but it is nowhere near as satisfying. I have a few containers of the pre-mixed Myoplex which I am saving for those times when I need a "grab-and-go", so I haven't tried those yet, but I'm hopeful they are as good as the powder.

Re: Best Tasting and Best Effective Shake

I was not condoning slimfast at all, just remember the details of 2 a day and a meal, heh. I've had myoplex before as well, I liked it, just not a big supply. Thanks guys I will take this into consideration, ciao

Re: Best Tasting and Best Effective Shake

I'm just using water to mix... makes it easier to do it on the go or when I'm out somewhere and it's "time to feed."
