Too much water????

I was told today that if I drink more than 12 (8oz) glasses of water that my body will retain the water. Is this true? I exercise at least an hour a day so I feel that I need a little extra water. I don't understand?

no, its absolutely not true. The more you drink the more you will eliminate.

Re: Too much water????

Thanks for replying. I just didn't think that it made any sense. The person who told me this was a counselor at my weight loss clinc--go figure??? I think they need to get a little more training or something. I'll keep up the water drinking. The more water I drink the less likely I am to want diet soda or coffee.

Now sodium makes you retain water. So over indulgence of sodium along with water, then i can see why they said its possible. Don't let anyone tell you anything bad about water, never understood why people say stuff. Like you can die if you drink too much, unhealthy to drink a lot of water, etc.

You have to drink like 5+ gallons in one sitting to have "intoxification" problems, and possible "drowning". Drink all you want when you want, you know when you don't want anymore..
