Question Can toning/bodybuilding be achieved though Ketogenic Diets?

I been doing lots of research on carbohydrates and through what I have read, the human body does not need carbohydrates and is capable of producing glucose through the liver, by using certain amino acids and triglycerides.

But I couldnt find any information if bodybuilding could be achieved through ketogenic diets.

Any information/opinions?

Ketogenic diets are not very conducive to muscle building. When tweaked properly CKDs can help to lose fat during the cutting phase, but I don't think I have ever seen anyone *gain* significant muscle on a keto diet.

I prepared for several shows about 8-10 years ago using a ketogenic diet - results were not as good as a standard "typical diet" I held lean mass but never got really cut to ribbons like i can with other diets. Didnt gain any lean mass in the process.

Gotta have carbs - they are protein sparing. Gotta have plenty of protein and a moderate amount of the right fat.

fat - 10-15% - EFA's, Flax seed oil
Protein 40-45% - Chicken and egg whites and whey protein
Everything else is carbs - low GI, high fiber

6-7 meals a day.
