Re: Help! Need to loose weight & not working
Did you measure your waist, hips, etc with a tape measure when you started your exercise program? If so, measure again and compare those numbers. You may have gained some muscle tissue while losing some fat.
Try to keep the long term or "big picture" in mind while trying to lose weight. If you think of building a new set of habits for long term health, then you've already made a good step in that direction by building an exercise habit. As you learn more about healthy eating and calories, you can improve more factors. In time, you should see the changes on your scale, too.
Depending on your bone structure and muscle mass, you probably only need to lose 20 or 30 lbs. What if it takes a year? In a year's time, you could have a slim, healthy body with new habits that will keep you continuing in that condition. Or conversely, you could go on a "crash" or fad type diet, lose 20-30 lbs, and gain it all back (and more) in that same years' time.
