Work up to your goal using intervals. Meaning walk for a couple minutes, run for five, walk for 2, run for five (or however long you can run without killing yourself). By continuously increasing the amount of time that you are running in each session, and whittling away at the walking intervals, you are building your endurance without working too hard. You'll be running for a solid hour before you know it.
