Nutrition Question--Naxis?

Quick question-- I hear a lot of talk about eating kidney beans as part of a healthy diet when working out, etc. Are pinto beans (canned) ok? Nutritionally they seem almost identical, at least where the fat, carbs and calories are concered. It just seems I have heard more about the kidney beans. Also, as far as a mid day meal/snack, are whole tomatoes and eggs (1-yolk, 2-3 whites) ok??? They seem healthy and taste good. Just want to make sure I am on track. -Chris

All beans are good. Some have slightly different nutritional profiles, but they are generally fairly high in protein, fiber, and some minerals. I say do with whichever kinds you prefer.
As far as eggs, I don't see why not. Yolks once in a while are not so bad, so long as you account for the calories/fat in your diet (and have no cholesterol issues). Yolks have a lot of good vitamins and protein, but moderation is the key, as with anything.

probably a lot of sodium (better to go fresh) but nothing patently wrong with it.

Just high fat, calories and cholesterol. Hence the recommendation of moderation.
