leg work effect upper body?

I have a question. I kinda asked it a few months ago but didnt really get an answer. can working your legs cause your upper body to get bulkier. The reason I say this is that after doing lower body weight training for a couple months my abs seems a little thicker then they used to and I have cut back a ton on working my abs. I want a flat toned stomach and not a bulky (not to say thats what I have but its bulkier then it used to be) one. does anyone know if this can have an effect? I eat a lot of fiber, could that make me seem bulier in terms of bloating maybe. anyone have an idea on this?

Re: leg work effect upper body?

they say your body tries to keep itself proportioned, and that a lot of times when working out your legs they build muscle faster than anywhere else, and therefore your body will compensate by adding muscle mass in other places. not sure how accurate that is, it's what i've heard

i hear you but i havent really gained much weight. Its it possible that maybe the ribcage could expand a little. I think I may have heard that before somwhere, has anyone else heard that?
