I wanted to get my back 'in shape'...
And since muscle burns fat, the best thing to aid it along is working it out.
If you're already hitting the gym, then you probably know about the shoulder excersices you could do. As far as lower back... I learned a great one-
1)Grab an exercise ball and head toward a sturdy wall
2)Lay on the ball with your face facing towards the floor (not the celing) so that your weight is all distributed on your chest and upper abdomen (kinda hard to picture I'm sure)
3) make sure your feet are pressing against the wall
4) then proceed to do a 'backwards sit up' so instead of doing crunches for your tummy, you're doing crunches for you back
If anything, it really helps strengthen that often left out part of the body.
