Re: Eating under 600 calories.

You aren't eating enough and your blood sugar is low. That's what happens to me anyway if I don't eat. You should not be under 1200 calories a day.

Sounds like a mental thing with the food disgust. As far as nausea and being dizzy...what do you think is causing that? I think you know. You MUST eat more.

You're basically killing yourself, just slowly. 1-3 lbs a day is WAY too much. If you continue like this you will hurt yourself, guaranteed. No matter how overweight you may be, 1-3 lbs per WEEK would be much healthier. Even then, 3 would be pushing it. Believe it or not, even complete fasting is a good thing sometimes, but not for the purposes of losing weight, only for detoxification and cleaning yourself out.

How tall are you and how much do you weigh? That will help other people give you an idea of what you need to do.

Without further information from you, my first suggestion is weight training and cardio. As far as diet goes, for now, just concentrate on eating more. If you're getting 600 calories per day right now, try to double that. Adding fats will help. Don't worry, fat doesn't make you fat.

Re: Eating under 600 calories.

if food is repulsive you are in starvation mode this is what happens to dieters after being on their little famine (if very restrictive)if they have low famine sensitivity, they get sick to their stomach when they try to eat but neusea is a clue that you really are hungry and if you start to eat it may make you feel better.

second if that doesn't help to eat even when food is repulsive you need to see a psychologist the specializes in anorexia (which means no appetite). also since you said food looks repulsive you do manage to eat 600 caloires,9hunger has to be intense before you eat?) could it be a psychological thing since you are losing 1-3 pounds (which is water and muscles mostly) and you are getting a high on seeing those numbers go down?

many people endure alot food wise and dieting wise when they see the scale numbers go down, its like their reward for the pain they endure, they get elated or high from it,trouble is the weight loss is vital organ tissue, muscles and vital glycogen and water stores with only some fat.

but those who have high famine sensitivity cannot keep it up eventually they end up eating until the reach the setpoint weight, those with lower famine sensitivity can starve themselves with little body interference, they dont' get the urge to binge and overeat until the cows come home or until weight is replaced, not usually until the starvation is extreme or long duration it may make token efforts at getting you to eat but these are weak. (such as moments of weakness, according to the dieter, when they eat half of cuboard of junk food and are crying all the way through due to the lack of control, so they think, and fear of weight regain and then are determined more than ever to keep in control at all times)

famine senstivity is genetically determined, sometimes you can have moderate famine sensitivity then train your body through dieting efforts to be even more famine sensitive. anorexics those who are successful in circumventing their bodies survival instincts are usually the ones who eventually starve themselves to death, despite psychological intervention, think karen carpenter, she would of never been able to starve her self if her body was in the moderate to high famine sensitivity range.

her body didn't not protect her from starvation (via chemical releases that cause high interest in fatty foods, pestering her with food obessesions, food thought and intense built up hunger that only a saint could endure or resist)basically her body was defective in that department.

thank goodness low famine sensitivity is rare compared to moderate and moderate famine sensitivity is more common than the high famine sensitivity, (that I myself suffer from).

if you can manage 1200 caloires as suggested that would help you in the long run to regain your hunger again, your body has stopped sending hunger cues because you are ignoring them until extreme and you have trained it to not send them, by eating 1200 caloires at first you can reawaken the body's understanding that food is available and you won't ignore it's cries for food anymore and it will stop those nuseasatedness you get when you look at food.

it will understand that the famine you are forcing on it is coming to an end. your body is like alot of dieters (well those who first start their weight loss diet) has been trained to be famine tolerant, if says oh there is a famine going on, no need to send hunger signals until food is avialble again, understand?

but sooner or later the built up hunger will need to be taken care of, the body will for those with moderate to high famine sensitivity take over the controls (remember binging episodes of dieters?) and get that person to eat whether they want to or not.

I recommend the book break out of food jail by jean antenello, because it specially deals with the famine feast cycle as it relates to anorexics and bulmics.
