Question Online personal trainers??

Hi guys!!

I'm currently on a healthy eating regimen, and I try to work out every day, either weight training or some sort of cardio.

I really want a set schedule though, and have been doing some research on a company called [removed] They have 24 specialists that help design a workout program just for you and your needs. They have workout programs that you can follow for the week, etc...

I dont work out at a gym, but I have a plethera of gym equipment in the house, lol. If only I knew how to use it!! Thats why I wondered if anybody had any opinions on online personal trainers. Is it worth the money, or is it just information you could find yourself??

Sometimes I just feel like if I had someone pushing me or telling me the exact thigns to do that it would motivate me so much more....

Opinions??? Thanks I would appreciate it...

Re: Online personal trainers??

Some are good and some are useless. You really need to find out more about them (specific trainers/sites) to make an informed decision. If they do not customize things for you, provide updates, and answer your questions then I wouldn't bother. The ones that just dole out canned responses that anyone can look up online are banking on people's ignorance, and that's just not very useful for real progress.

Thanks for replying.

This one seems to be very personal. They claim to customize everything for you, and that you can email them at any time and they will respond within that day. Im still skeptical though...

Have you heard good things about any others in particular?? Thanks

Re: Online personal trainers??

For basic fitness type goals, I'm not really familiar with any other specific sites/online trainers. In fact, I'm going to be expanding my training services into long distance/ online training in the next year as well because I think there is a lack of good, thorough training programs online. Too many canned programs doled out to everyone regardless of personal needs or goals. If you end up signing up with this site, let us know how you like it.

Re: Online personal trainers??

Personally, I have not actually tried out any online fitness programs or trainers, however I am familiar with the [removed] program you are referring to. My two cents is that I think you are right -- I agree that they are very personalized and I went through their "free resources" link and read all [removed]. From what I can see, the people who run this site are very informed and I really like that fact that there is nothing on the site that promotes fast or easy weight loss. They promote healthful, strategic eating, and hard work. HOWEVER, what I think looks really good is that although the site does say a lot about changing your lifestyle and diet, it seems to understand that there are EFFICIENT ways to attain specific fitness goals (i.e. weight gain in muscle mass, or fat loss) and that it's not enough to just tell someone to go do 30 min of cardio and 30 min of weight training etc etc. [removed] (and I'm assuming his staff and trainers) understands the metabolic processes of the body and how to use the body's natural adaptation process in a way that constantly challenges it and promotes fat loss while minimizing muscle mass loss. And best of all, the site promotes eating!!! Albeit healthy eating, but time and time again the site says that you MUST eat in order to keep that metabolism up, prevent muscle loss, and promote fat loss. In my opinion the best fitness resources are always the ones the promote programs that are actual feasible in following long term, and of course that means that they have to allow you to eat!!!!

Just my two cents....

Re: Online personal trainers??

I wouldn't waste my money.
I think a good workout/nutrition book would be a better idea.
