Question Toning Up with Pilates

Hi,
As part of my exercise routine, I do a thirty minute pilates workout specifically for abs after I do 40 minutes of cardio. I've been doing this for about 2 months or so. The only problem with this is I don't think I'm toning the lower part of my stomach. It seems when I do such exercises as leg lifts, my lower back is arched, which I think means I'm not working the lower muscles in my stomach. If anyone has any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong, please let me know.

Toning merely implies that the fat is low enough for the muscles underneath to be visible and more prominent. You might just have to lose some more fat around your abs before they become "toned".
